Birthday Unicorn - Design Team Member: Verity

Hello! So good to be here. It's Verity here from Pretty Little Button with another card for you today. When I was colouring in the Unicorn from the A5 Unicorns and Chasing Rainbows clear stamp set I knew straight away this would make a perfect birthday card for a little girl. I decided to play on the theme of pinks and purples but added a touch of grey to modernise it. This is a great card to have in my stash ready to send out, you should make one too!

Birthday Unicorn card details:

To start off, stamp the unicorn onto hot press watercolour paper in versamark ink and heat emboss. I used Pure Platinum WOW! Embossing powder as this would pair lovely with the colour scheme of the card.

Unicorn birthday card handmade by Verity Biddlecombe

Next, I used my Tropical watercolour pan from Prima marketing to colour the unicorn in.  I added more colour to areas in the shadow to add some dimension and depth. I also used a soft grey ink to add a little shading around the edge of the horse head.

To add sparkle to the unicorn I added versamark ink with the use of the versamark pen and add holographic embossing powder, and heat set this. Once the unicorn was complete, this was fussy cut-out.

For the rest of the card, I die cut a stitched circle out of purple card. For added interest, I clear heat embossed the A6 Tiny flower background clear stamp. Before foam mounting this onto the card, I used soft stencil brushes to ink blend Tattered Rose distress oxide onto the card panel. I wanted a soft pink haze around the die cut circle.

I cut down a few grey strips of card and adhered this onto the card panel with double-sided tape. Both the die cut circle and then the unicorn was foam mounted onto the card to give lots of dimensions. A grey die cut sentiment was added to the card along with a small stamped sentiment in matching ink.

To finish the card off, a selection of purple and pink sequins were added to the card panel.

I hope you love today's card and don't forget to check out the stamp set, link below. If you loved this card please leave a comment below as we would love to hear from you.

Until next time!

Marleen DT - Alphabet stamps

Hello Beautiful People

Its once again thursday and my turn to share a bit of inspiration for
Colourific.

For today I have made 2 cards. It was really just 1 idea that became 2 as I was playing lol..
Let me share the pics and I will explain.

First though.. The stamps I used you can find in the STORE.
I used the:
A4 Alphabet and Numbers
and the
A5 Princess and Carriage
For this one I started by stamping my letters with Archival ink. I then used distress ink and lots of water to add colour into the letters. I held the card upright while doing this so the colour just ran down the card. As the colours flowed, the exess landed on my glass mat and I used that extra colour to add to the top of my card stock.. Hope that makes sense..
Once the card was dry I stamped the wee tiara, the star and the princess also with Archival.
The wee strip of black and white at the top of the card, is actually made using another Colourific stamp, I used the rainbow stamp from the A5 unicorns and chasing rainbow set.
I just stamped the end of the rainbow repeatedly and coloured in with a black sharpie before cutting to size.
I finished with glossy accent on the letters and a few clear nuvo drops.

Well and then this one... This one came about because I still had more water/ink on my glass mat. So I decided to mop it up on a piece of water colour card. I loved the impression so much and the colours oviously matched card 1, I decided to make another card in the same style.
When I made card no 1 I was toying with the idea of cutting/colouring/raising the letters but as background 2 came about I decided to do that on this card..

The letter are a bit stronger in colour the the rest of the card. Simply as I had already cleaned up the mat so I had to use a bit of fresh ink. But I like that the letters really pop.
I finished this little card using a flower stamp from the A6 modern flowers set.

And that is it from me for today. Make sure you pop over in the Store to see the whole stamp collection and come and join us in our FACEBOOK group.
Thank you for popping by and for any comments left behind.

Autumnal Thanks - Design Team Member: Verity

Hello! So good to be here. It's Verity here from Pretty Little Button with another card for you today. This card features stamps from the A6 Leaves clear stamp set from Colourific. This stamp set has a variety of leaves of different sizes and either as the outline or the bold full stamp. I used this stamp today with a masking and emboss resist technique to create a beautiful decorative panel.

Autumnal Thanks card details:

To start, mask off an area for stamping - this area will be where we add colour later on. Now for this card, I used a stamping platform as I wanted to emboss the leaves where the colour was, and only stamp the leaves outside the colour in a simple ink - this area was not embossed.

Thank you autumnal card handmade by Verity Biddlecombe

Before inking, I prepped the area with an embossing buddy. The stamps were inked with versamark ink and covered in Pure Platinum embossing powder and heat set. Before moving the leaves to stamp in another area, I positioned the panel back into my stamping platform and covered the embossed area with masking tape. I removed the masking that I had originally put down to mask off the coloured area.

With the stamps still in the same original position prior to embossing, I inked the stamps up with dark grey ink and stamped onto the card panel. I removed the masking paper to reveal continuous stamping between the embossing and the ink.

I repeated this process of inking and embossing until I had a strip complete. To add the colour. I positioned the masking taped back onto the card cover the ink parts of the stamp and leaving over the embossing exposed. Using a blending tool and distress oxides (Fossilized amber, spiced marmalade and candied apple), I created a gradient embossed resist background. Once you have finished ink blending, removed the tape and buff the embossing with a dry paper towel. This will remove any excess ink left on top of the embossing.

To finish the card, I added a layered 'Thanks' die cut from my stash and embellished with some colour corresponding sequins. The card panel was foam mounted onto an A6 (UK size) black card with a 1/8" border.

I hope you love today's card and don't forget to check out the stamp set, link below. If you loved this card please leave a comment below as we would love to hear from you.

Until next time!

Dream ~ Karen

Hello everyone!  It's Karen with you today, and I have a simple card using 3 different stamp sets to share:
I started by die cutting a circle shape from a piece of scrap paper to create a mask, then I taped it down on my cardstock and created an ombre/sunset effect using three colours of Distress Oxide Inks (Wild Honey, Worn Lipstick & Candied Apple).  After removing the mask, I stamped the two flowers from the Moderne Flowers set, the leaves and butterfly from the Leaves stamp set, and added the Dream sentiment from Unicorns & Chasing Rainbows - all in Black Versafine ink.  I drew in the stems with a fine black marker.
I used my sewing machine to stitch the panel down to some black cardstock, and popped the whole piece up with some pop dots before adhering it to my patterned paper.  I added a few white sequins to finish it off.  You can find all of the stamp sets on the Colourific website here... or click on the stamp names above to go directly to them on the site.  Happy stamping!

Marleen DT - Alphabets and Numbers

Hello Beautiful People

Its once again my turn to share a bit of inspiration for
Colourific. For todays project I have used the
A4 Alphabet and Numbers set
A6 Alpahbet and Numbers set
A5 Princess Carriage set (the wee stars)

My background is a simple distress ink mop-up from another project. I had ink left on my mat after playing and didnt wanna waste it so mopped up the rest and used it here.

I stamped my open letters strait on to the background with versamark and heatseet it with gold embossing powder. I made sure not to remove any excess powder that landed on the background as I wanted the specks to stay. I also stamped the little stars and swiped my versamark around the edges of the background and heatset both also.

I filled my letters with glossy accent and added little micro beads in to the gloss while it was still wet. That made sure they stayed put.

While the gloss was drying I punched the wee circle, stamped the "15" on to it, swiped the pad around the edges and once again heatset with gold embossing powder.

Once all way dry I used foampads to add the circle as well as adding background to a craft notecard.

And that is all for today.
Thank you for popping by and for any comments left behind.

Background Stamping with Leaves by Atiya

Hello everyone!
My name is Atiya and I will be taking over the blog today. For my first DT project with Colourific, I have done some background stamping using A6 Leaves stamp set.

For this card, I have used Altenew Crisp Dye Inks for stamping. I wanted this card to be fun and vibrant. So, along with the Green and Black, I went with Pink and Yellow.  I have used Honey Drizzle, Rubellite, Forest Green and Jet Black.

Before starting off with the stamping, I placed the stamps in the way I wanted them to be. This way I had a clear idea of where each stamp will be positioned and how it will look. Once the background was ready, I grabbed the word 'Thanks' from one of my Sizzix stamps and dies set. I stuck it down using a foam tape.

To give a little bling, I added a few rhinestones.

For the next one, instead of doing an entire background. I decided on doing a little part of the white cardstock. I stamped using  Altenew Crisp Dye Inks in Starlight, Tide Blue, Turquoise and Jet Black. As compared to the first one, I wanted this to have minimal tones.

Next, I took the black cardstock and glued it underneath the white cardstock just so that a little stripe of black could peek. For the base, I went with the Kraft Sheet. I liked how everything blended together in the end.

Then I punched a Fall leaf using a Fiskars punch and distressed it using Black Soot. I tied a little piece of twine to the stem. And for the word 'Hello' I again went with my Sizzix stamps.

Once everything was glued, I added some sequins and rhinestones to finish up the look.

And this is it for today! I hope you liked today's post.

DT Marleen - Background stamps on small hearts..

Hello Beautiful People

Its once again my turn to share a bit of inspiration for
Colourific.

For todays creation I've used 3 different background stamps.
Ive used:
A6 Flower Background
A6 Tiny hearts Background
A6 Grunge BackgroundA6 Princess text

All clear stamps.

I love strecthing my supplies a bit further, using them in different ways, so for todays card I stamped each background stamp, on seperate pieces of cards, in complementry colours and used a punch to cut a load of hearts from each . I added a bit of distress ink around the edges of each heart and around my card blank before sticking the hearts down.
I drew a couple of faint pencil lines down the card to try and keep the hearts strait, and I just rubbed them out once the hearts was stuck down with foam pads.

I finished the card with my greeting and a few clear nuvo drops. I stamped the greeting using my Misty, nit a must but I find it helps me so much getting things strait as I can test it before I commit.
And that is all for today.

Stamping and Embossing

Hi everyone! Monica here sharing my first creation as a Colourific DT.  I am looking forward to a great term here and hope to keep everyone inspired!  Today I chose to use the "Butterflies Take Flight" A5 clear stamp set.  What a beauty this!

I stamped my images on Arches watercolor paper using a versamark ink and black embossing powder.  Once done I then fussy cut my butterflies out and colored them with zig clean color brush pens.  Which gives them a fun bright look.

To give my card some added depth I embossed the cardstock and finished it off with some sequins!
Well, I hope everyone enjoyed my post and thanks so much for stopping by...
