Marleen DT - Tiny Hearts background

Hello Bloggers
and welcome
Its my turn to share a bit of inspiration using the amazing stamps from Colourific.
You can find the stamp I've used and all the other fantastic stamps in the
STORE.

I have 3 cards to share today but they are all variations of the same ideas and I use just the 1 background stamp.
This is a technique you can do with any background stamp and with a bit of fiddling around with your inks, use any stamp you have.

These cards all started out as simple stamping on my card stock with my Tiny Hearts Background stamp. The gradient in the colours are made by overlapping the inks. I used Distress ink for all 3 cards and if you start with the lighter colour on your stamp they wont really contaminate each other.

After stamping I cut 2 of the backgrounds into strips and added them to my card with foam tape to give them a lift. Use regular tape if you don't want the extra bulk.

I finished with a couple of die cut sentiments and a few black gems..

And that is all from me for today.
Thank you for popping by and for any comments left behind.

There is Beauty in Simpicity

Good Morning

Alice here with my Monday morning Blog.

Materials Used:

A5 Peony Stamp Set
Black Memento Ink
Copic Markers
White Card

  • To make the gift bag, I cut the card into the appropriate sizes and scored and folded where appropriate.
  • Before assembling the bag, I stamped the Peony flower 3 times across the top of the front and back of the gift bag using a masking technique.
  • I coloured with copic markers then fussy cut out along the top edge of the card, keeping the remainder of the flowers attached.
  • I felt the front of the bag was very plain, so I embossed a sheet of white card and stuck it on before I did the next step.
  • I stamped I stamped 5 more Peonies and coloured them in with copics and fussy cut them out.  I also stamped and coloured an assortment of leaves and fussy cut.
  • I joined all the pieces of the gift back together and made it up.
  • I punched  2 holes in the front and back of the gift back to attach the ribbon.
  • I arranged the 4 of the remaining coloured peonies along the front of the back raising them with foam pads.  Evenly attached the leaves evenly around the raised peonies with some glue.
  • Finally cut out a die shaped tag, embossed it with the same embossing folder.  Coloured the tag with Oxide Ink, the stamped a sentiment from my stash.  Added the final Peony to the front of the tag.  Finally punched a hole, threaded some ribbon through and attached to the bag.

Blue Hibiscus Bloom

Hi everybody, it's Maria here with my Friday Colourific post.

Today we have the A5 Hibiscus stamp which is available from the Colourific website for only £12.99, Which I have coloured in blues and greens.
Here's what you will need:

A5 Hibiscus stamp set
Blues/Greens/Yellows - spray inks (I used Pearlywinks vibes)
Light Blue/Dark Blue/Green ink pads - I used Harmony ink pads
White Stamping card
Embossing folder (I used a Crafters Companion Sheena one)
White card blank 8 x 8"
Black card for mounting
3D Foam Pads
3D Glue gel
Pokey tool
Blu tac
Silver Ribbon
Brads
Tacky Glue

Here's how to make the card
  1. Emboss a piece of white card 7.5 x 7.5" square and glue to the centre of the 8x8 card blank.
  2. Stamp out three of the large blooms in a light blue ink onto the Stamping Card - cut out leaving a small border.
  3. Stamp out 3 medium sized blooms in green ink onto the Stamping Card - cut out leaving a small border.
  4. Stamp out 3 small sized blooms in dark blue ink onto the Stamping Card - cut out leaving a small border.
  5. Spray the Blue/Green/Yellow inks onto a blending mat and spritz with a little water - then swoosh a piece of stamping card approx. 5.5 x 5.5" into the inks and swirl it around.
  6. Once dried, lightly spritz the same colours over the backing sheet to leave the speckles.  Leave this to dry naturally if possible.
  7. Layer up the blooms and place on a ball of blu tac - then push your pokey tool through the middle for your brad to fit through.
  8. Put one of the brads through the hole in each of the flower heads.
  9. Using the large stamen stamp, stamp four stems as per the photo.
  10. Attach 3D foam pads to the flower heads and place them on the top of the stems.
  11. Mount the topper onto a piece of slightly larger black card and then mount this onto the embossed card on the card blank.
  12. Tie a piece of silver ribbon into a bow  and attach to topper using 3D glue gel.
Hope you enjoy making your card, watch out for more next week.

 Colourific.
You can find the stamps I've used and all the other fantastic stamps in the
STORE. For todays post me and my little girl had a play session together.
We both used the A5 - Girls Night Out stamp set.

Sticking to what I do best, both Abbie and I simply stamped, coloured and added a sentiment.
I stamped using distress oxide and Abbie stamped with black ink and coloured with gel pens. We both finished with a die cut greeting and a few gems.
And that is it from me for today.

Live The Dream

Good Morning

Alice here, it's hard to believe we are in September now, where do the weeks and months disappear to!  Here is my project for this week.  Decided to have a play with the A5 Peony Stamp Set, you can find this and many more fabulous stamps here.Quite like the way this one turned out.

Materials use:

6 x 6 Brown Card Blank
4.75 x 4.75 Brown Mat
5.75 x 5.75 Kraft Card Mat
4.5 x 4.5 Kraft Card Mat
Versamark Ink Pad
White Embossing Powder
Copic Pens
Sentiment Stamp
2 sizes of circle dies

  •   Take the 5.75 and the 4.5 pieces of Kraft card.  Using a small piece of double
sided tape centre the smaller one on top of larger one.
  •    Using Versamark Ink pad, randomly stamp the Peony flowers and leaves over the         card, making sure to overlap the small square onto the larger square.
  •    Emboss the images with white embossing powder.  When this is done colour in the       flowers and leaves with copic markers.
  •    If you wish you can go over the images with a sparkle pen as I did, but this is not         necessary.
  •    Carefully remove the smaller Kraft Card from the larger one.
  •    Mat the larger card onto the 6 x 6 brown card blank.
  •    Mat the smaller Kraft square onto the 4.75 x 4.75 Brown Mat
  •    Apply the smaller mat to the card ensuring the images match up.
  •    Cut one large circle from Brown card and a smaller one from Kraft Card.  Stamp the     Live the Dream sentiment in the middle of the smaller circle and emboss with gold       embossing powder.  Mat the 2 circles together and attach to card.
  •    Finish off with some gold gems randomly scattered over card
Thank you for joining me.

A Nod to Andy

Hello everybody, it's Maria here and for today's post I have been influenced by the style of Andy Warhol in making a picture made from the Campervan stamp set from Colourific.

To make this 8x8" picture you will need:
Colourific Campervan Stamp set
Stamping white card
Masking paper or fluid
Clear Embossing Powder
Coloured ink pads
(I used Spectrum Noir Harmony ink pads in Lemon Tonic, Ocean Blue, Grasshopper and Fushia)
Versa Fine Onyx ink pad
Silver gel pen
Paintbrush
Brayer and Gelli plate or just blend the colour with a blending brush or sponge
Double sided tape.

Here is how I made it:
  1. Firstly cut four pieces of stamping card cut to 4" x 4" and stamp the Campervan image in the centre of each of the cards.
  2. Emboss these with clear embossing powder.
  3. Mask off the windscreen and the lights with masking paper or masking fluid and let it dry.
  4. Colour each of the full cards with the inks. (I used a brayer and Gelli plate)
  5. If you want to add texture to the inks, add a splash of water and dry with heat gun.
  6. Take off the masking paper or rub off the gum and colour with the inks in a corresponding colour.
  7. Using a paint brush add more of the same colour to the flowers of the campervan to make them stand out more.
  8. Once dry, attach double sided tape to the back of each of the cards and stick them to a piece of 8" x 8" card.
  9. Frame - I bought this one for a pound in the Poundshop.
There you go, all done.  This makes a great picture for a teenagers bedroom wall, or wherever you want really.

Bye for now
Maria

With Thanks The Colourific Way

Happy Colourific Thursday to you
Today I am sharing with you some Pinkness
I have used the lovely Stamp Set
I stamped and fussy cut the flowers layering them for depth

My background paper is one that was recommended to me I totally love B n M's cheapy 12 x 12 the quality is so very good and they’re double sided
Someone said try the Works, No local Works but there were a few other bits I looked at so I placed an online order, a code popped up free delivery over £10 ~ pretty good so far of course I spent a lot more than £10!
There wasn't much variety in 12 x 12 pads to be honest and the one I had my beady on was Out Of Stock, grrrrr I did spot another called Summer Dreams so popped that in my basket
and this is one of the sheets , I don't think its as good as quality as what I normally use but perfect for card making and this sheet fitted perfectly with my pink theme.

I used some random dies and finished it off with some sparkly gems
This Stamp Set is sure up there in my Top favourites
See you Next Week for another Colourific Thursday

Marleen DT - Christmas is coming..

Hello Bloggers
and welcome to my blog

It's once again wednesday and my turn to share some inspiration for Colourific.
For today I have a couple of christmas cards to share using a few of the christmas stamps. Its never too early to start the christmas cards is it? lol You can find the stamps I've used and all the other fantastic stamps in the STORE.
For my cards today, I have used the following:
A6 -Holly & Berries Background
A6 - Xmas text Background
A5 Stitched Friends

Both cards has been made the same way. I started by stanping the background strips with the background stamps. The red one is coloured with distress oxide "mop up" and the green one was coloured with water colour pencils. Both of my stiched friends was stamped, coloured and fuzzy cut before being added on top of a die cut circle from vellum.

And that is pretty much it.. If you wanted to take this card to the next level, you could finish it with a few gems and even a greeting but I tend to keep my christmas cards extra simple.

And that is it from me for today.

Friendship Makes Life More Beautiful

Good Morning

Alice here, how did we get to the last week in August so quickly.  I guess it's getting to that time where I need to think about Christmas Cards.  Maybe I'll wait until middle of September!!   Thought I would have a go at some up cycling this week.  I have had a few empty reels from Red Liner tape in the Craft Room for a few weeks.  What to do with them?  This is what I came up with.  You can find these stamps and many more over on the Colourifc Shop here

Materials Used:

A5 Hibiscus Stamp Set
A6 Leaves Stamp Set
Sentiment Stamp
Black Embossing Powder
Piece of Spotted Green background paper
Copic Pens
Nuvo Drops
Empty Red Liner Reel
Length of Natural Jute
Piece of Ribbon
Gems

  • Wrapped the Empty Reel with the Jute.
  • Added the piece of ribbon to top to make a hanger
  • Stamped 1 middle and 2 small hibiscus stamps.  Coloured 2 small ones with yellows and middle one with Purples, then fussy cut out.
  • Stamped 4 leaves in various colours and fussy cut out.
  • Using a circle die, I cut out a piece of background paper that fitted on the back of the reel.  Stamped the sentiment in the middle of the paper and embossed with Black embossing powder.
  • Glued circle piece onto the back of the reel. Arranged and glued flowers around reel.  Added butterfly onto opposite side.
  • Finished off with some gems from my stash.
Thank you for looking.

Hibiscus on vellum

Hi everybody, Maria here!

It's Friday so its my turn to show you what I have made this week.  I love the black and white look with a hint of metallic, so I tried the Hibiscus stamp from Colourific on vellum with gold and silver pixie powders.

To make this card you will need:

A5 Hibiscus stamp from Colourific
Sheet of white vellum
Onyx Black Versafine ink
Mirror Card in Gold and Silver
Grey Pearl card
Small piece of black card
Versamark
White Card Blank
4 x Brads
Black Card
Gold Embossing ink
Sentiment out of stash
Gold and Silver Pixie Powders
Water Spritzer
Heat Tool
3D foam pads
Double Sided sticky tape

Here is how to make it:
  1. Sprinkle the gold and silver pixie powder onto a piece of white vellum 13.5cm square.  Spritz the powder with water and either let it dry on its own or use a heat gun.  nb.  The vellum will crinkle more with the heat gun - but this all adds to the texture.
  2. Stamp the flower head, the small stem and flourishes randomly on the vellum using the versafine ink.
  3. Lightly spritz the vellum with Pure Pearl Mist ink spray from Pearlywinks and leave to dry.
  4. Attach this to the mirror card which is cut to exactly the same size by using brads.
  5. Mount this onto a piece of pearl grey card and then onto the 6x6" card base.
  6. Stamp the sentiment onto a piece of black card by using Versamark and emboss in Gold embossing powder.
  7. Cut into the shape of a banner and mount onto gold mirror card.
  8. Attach the banner to the card using 3D foam pads
That's it, all done.  You will find the card looks better in the flesh as you will be able to see all the shimmer and glitz from the pixie powders and the pearl spray finish.  Hope you enjoy making it.

Marleen DT - A bottle of love

Hello Bloggers
and welcome to my blog

Todays post is another tag. Im really enjoy crafting on tags and they can be used for so many things.
As per usual, I have used a selection of stamps from Colourific and you can find them all in the STORE.

The specific one I used for this tag is:
A6 - Grunge Background
A6 - Borders & Stems

A5 - Champagne & Cocktails

I used a tag cut from canvas paper, I really like working on this surface due to the way it takes the ink but also for the texture. I started by stamping my bottle with Archival (waterprrof) ink.

I then used Distress Stains and water to create my background. If you have ever used Distress products you will know that once you add water, the ink has a mind of its own lol, so there is no way to ever recreate a background fully.

Once I liked my background I stamped the details with Distress Oxide Inks.
I kept my stamp on the backing card as I stamped. Added a bit of ink and simply rolled the stamp over the corner of my tag. I find that not using a stamp block give a softer egde to the stamping.

I then took a bit of distress ink and coloured my bottle. It was already green from the background ink but I wanted it to pop a little bit.

To finish, I stamped the little details of the bottle on to scrap card and coloured with gold Distress Stain and oce dry, fuzzy cut and glued on top of the bottle. I added a few gems and Voila.. all done.

Oh before I go.. I just wanna mention our FaceBook group. Colourific now has a group for anyone who is interested in the products. There is a competition over there and the Desgin Team shares their projects every day. And we would love to see your Colourific creations too. Come and join us.

And that is it from me for today.
Thank you for popping by and for any comments left behind.
